FIRST UPDATE
We may not be the biggest or even the best Game of Thrones meme page on the net (tragically) but we're aspiring to bigger and better things. We love our humble fan base and we delight in making you all laugh with dank Westerosi mémés. Now, in an attempt to reach out to even more of you, we're expanding to a website, whilst also maintaining our Facebook presence so we can share our own thoughts and opinions with you all. We'll be posting episode reviews every week and sharing our: theories, hopes and dreams, geeky essays, top ten lists, maybe even a little art and a lot more. If you have any suggestions as to what you'd like to see us do here, please feel free to get in touch with us on our 'Contact' tab, discuss it in our Forum or message us on Facebook. We'd love to hear from you!
Having a following of around 72,500 people, we are extremely thankful to you all but with great power comes great responsibility (thanks Uncle Ben-jen). Mumbo-jumbo business talk incoming (if you're interested in that kind of thing). Unlike some of the other popular meme pages on Facebook, we have always been a non-profit meme page but now we're running a website, we will accept monetary gifts through PayPal to help us keep running the website and to help us add new features that require funds when we have enough to spend. Speaking of money, we're kinda rookies at this internet business and we're not entirely sure how big meme pages get away with selling unofficial merchandise and being linked with unofficial shops. However, if we find that it is completely legal and ethical (which it probably isn't) and you guys would like to see Game of Thronies merch, then it's something we will potentially consider doing, (it is very unlikely and in the distant future though). But Facebook is probably not the place for that.
You may not realise this, but we are constantly being bombarded with messages from fake accounts trying to 'buy ad space' or 'buy the page' so they can post ads all over our page. But in reality, these guys are breaking the Facebook terms and conditions and they're really trying to steal our followers' profile information. They don't care about the page at all, just the numbers. It's truly worrying. Being inexperienced with this kind of thing, we almost fell for one of their tricks last year. But fear not, Thronites, we will never sell you out to some unrelated, scammy 'business due to greed. We're here for fun, laughs and theory talk more than anything. So you can't imagine how relieved we were when we did our research and saved our page (and your news feeds) from spammy destruction. Phew, thank the Seven!
Mumbo-jumbo rant over
So, please please please feel free to browse our first set of articles, have a go on our (thus far rather limited) Activities section and start chatting on our forums. We love you all and hope to keep meme-ing forever. Valar Morghulis! ~Oberyn
